A few set photos from the Irish set of Starz’s Camelot have hit the internet. You can view hi-res candids of the lovely Eva Green as Morgana at EvaGreenWeb.com. There is also a small picture of Jamie Campbell-Bower (Arthur), Joseph Fiennes (Merlin), and Peter Mooney (Kay) at this website. The new series is expected to air in the first half of 2011. The article also lists the new actors involved, including Philip Winchester and James Purefoy.
The cast also includes Philip Winchester (“Crusoe”) as Leontes, Sebastian Koch (The Lives of Others) as King Uther and James Purefoy (“Rome”) as King Lot.
Check out these two websites (here and here) for set photos from the upcoming Red Riding Hood film starring Amanda Seyfried. Judging by the photos, it looks like they are going for a more fairytale rather than historical atmosphere. Here is the synopsis from IMDb: “Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family’s displeasure.” The movie is being filmed in Vancouver and is directed by Twilight‘s Catherine Hardwicke.
Sorry about the lack of updates! I’m sure this is old news by now, but Angelina Jolie, according to Wikeez, is to play Cleopatra. I admit that I didn’t like this casting choice at first, but I think it could work. What do you think?
The Oscar winner actress Angelina Jolie is set to play Cleopatra in an upcoming movie based on Cleopatra’s biography by Stacy Schiff.
According to the producer Scott Rudin, Angelina Jolie is the only actress in mind to portray the Egyptian queen, as he said that “she has the perfect look and that the movie is being developed for and with Jolie.”
The role of Cleopatra has most famously been played by Elizabeth Taylor in the 1963 movie of the same name.
