EvaGreenWeb reports that Eva Green (Kingdom of Heaven) has been cast as the sorceress Morgana in the new series, Camelot. Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love) might also join as Merlin. I highly respect these actors and their involvement makes me believe it will be a quality show. Ireland is also such a beautiful place to film historical shows!

The second episode of The Mists of Avalon is now in the gallery. Working on this movie made me realize all over again how beautiful the costumes are. Edward Atterton is also my favorite King Arthur out of all the Arthurian movies I’ve seen so far. I’m quite proud of our King Arthur movie collection (see the Medieval category)! I hope you enjoy the screen captures. |

News of casting for Camelot motivated me to finally cap another Arthurian work, The Mists of Avalon. It was in our gallery one or two years ago, but I took the captures down because the dimensions were wrong. The two-part miniseries aired in 2001 and starred Julianna Margulies as Morgaine (Morgan le Fay/Morgana), Edward Atterton as Arthur, Samantha Mathis as Gwenhyfar, and Michael Vartan as Lancelot. It is an adaptation of one of my favorite books, The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, and is a feminist and spiritual take on the legend (and better than the movie, as much as I love it). The actress that played young Morgaine, Tamsin Egerton, is reportedly playing Guinevere in the new television version! The second part will be done tonight or tomorrow. |

Sorry for the long delay in updates. I will try my best to update on a few upcoming movies tonight. Firstly, The Three Musketeers, another film coming to screens in 3D, has acquired a few new cast members. According to The Toronto Sun, however, there are two “duelling” Musketeer films in production, so I hope I don’t get them confused. Many characters are already cast in the Paul W.S. Anderson version:
