The Tudors 1.09 » 17 Aug 2008
Instead of uploading new movies for now, I decided to try and add all the lovely donations. Here is a new episode of The Tudors. Again, thank you, tara, for kindly donating these. You can find the gallery here. In this episode, we can catch a glimpse of Henry VIII composing his famous "Greensleeves" (third cap below). I found this commercial on Youtube that parodies this. Note that the actor in the commercial bears a better resemblance to the real king than Jonathan Rhys Meyers!

Crusoe trailer » 05 Aug 2008
Hello, everyone. I am still away on vacation and am unable to add any films or shows at the moment (I bought some new ones, so no worries!). Anyways, I wanted to update with a trailer I found for the upcoming show Crusoe, which will come to NBC this fall. It looks really good and I am really excited to see it. You can go here for an article.

Roar 1.01 "Pilot" » 18 Jul 2008
I received the 1997 television show Roar in the mail today and could not resist getting screencaps up right away. I know I promised to have Anne Frank up soon, but miniseries take a while and I do movie screencaps on my laptop, which is less convenient. I have started though, so expect those up within the week. Anyways, back to the show- I thought it would be fitting to post caps from the first episode of the series (it was canceled before it could finish a complete season) since the show starred the late Heath Ledger and his newest movie, The Dark Knight, opens today. Here is the link to the gallery. The show takes place in Ireland in 400 A.D. Expect more episodes from The Tudors soon as well.

Merlin » 29 Jun 2008
I added DVD screencaps from the television movie, Merlin, which came out in 1998. The movie stars Sam Neill (boy is he everywhere), Helena Bonham Carter, Miranda Richardson, and Martin Short. The movie should not be confused with the upcoming television series of the same name (and based on the same legend). Anyways, the movie also has plenty of fantasy. I did keep a few caps featuring magical elements (the dragon, for instance). You can view the caps here.

Also, I cleaned up the affiliates page again. I had to delete many of them as a result. If you want to be affiliates, please do not hesitate to e-mail me! Thanks.

The Tudors 1.08 » 29 Jun 2008
Another update! I added episode 8 of The Tudors season 1. Thanks again to the lovely Tara (I am running out of adjectives) for donating nine whole episodes from the show. I am almost done adding them all! Here is the link to episode 8.

Upcoming movie news. There will be a Prince of Persia film adaptation of the popular video games. The movie is slated to come out in 2009, will have Jerry Bruckheimer involved, and will star Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina, and Ben Kingsley. Adapted from the popular Prince of Persia series of video games. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Dastan, a sixth century prince who with help from a princess named Tamina (Gemma Aterton) fights to prevent a villainous noble from possessing a talisman called the Sands of Time, which can reverse time and make him ruler of the world. I added several films to the Upcoming movie page and forgot this one. I will add it soon!

The Notebook » 29 Jun 2008
Since this one was mentioned over on the shoutbox and I had it available to cap, I did! The Notebook was released in 2004 and begins in 1940, so it is in the Depression/WW2 section. You can view the gallery here. I did not include scenes that take place in modern day. Hope you like them.

Becoming Jane » 29 Jun 2008
Hello! I finally got around to screencapping Becoming Jane, the movie about a young Jane Austen that came out last summer. I thought the movie was decent enough. James McAvoy and Anne Hathaway were excellent in it and the movie, in my opinion, felt like a movie adaptation of a Jane Austen work (there were definite similarities to the recent Pride & Prejudice movie). Anyways, you can view the gallery with over 1100 caps right here.

The Tudors 1.07 » 27 Jun 2008
Here are more screencaps from The Tudors season 1, thanks to Tara. The last three episodes will come soon. Here is the link to the gallery.

Variety posted at article yesterday about two upcoming Greek epics in the works! Clash of the Titans has been on our Upcoming page for a while, but War of Gods is a new one: "War of Gods" is a mythological tale set in war-torn ancient Greece, as the young warrior prince Theseus leads his men in a battle against evil that will see the gods fighting with soldiers against demons and titans. I will add that one to our page soon!

The Tudors 1.06 » 27 Jun 2008
Hello, everyone! I am finally getting around to adding the rest of the screencaps Tara sent me earlier this month from The Tudors. Here is episode six. I will probably have the next episode up tonight. Thank you, Tara, for your wonderful contributions. You can view the new gallery here.

In historical movie news, Naomi Watts is rumored to have joined Keira Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Anthony Hopkins in the new movie, King Lear, which begins filming early next year. Sienna Miller has confirmed that she will be playing Lady Marian opposite Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott's Nottingham. Lastly, NBC has picked up two historically-based television shows for the 2008-2009 season: Merlin and Crusoe. I am really excited for these projects. You can check our Upcoming page for more details!

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade » 13 Jun 2008
Hello, everyone. Another update for my visitors. Alyosha requested Indiana Jones, so I added captures from the third film, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, to the gallery. The beginning of the movie takes place in 1912 while the majority of it takes place in 1938. You'll find it in the Depression/WWII section- or right here. This is the only Indiana Jones movie I have, so I doubt I will have time to get and cap the others. Sorry!

The Other Boleyn Girl » 13 Jun 2008
I bought The Other Boleyn Girl when it came out on DVD this past Tuesday and could not resist capping it. The movie came out earlier this year and stars Natalie Portman as Anne Boleyn and Scarlett Johansson as her sister, Mary Boleyn. The movie is based on the novel by Philippa Gregory. I loved the book and thought the film could have been a better adaptation. But the movie is so pretty to watch and Natalie Portman does a wonderful job playing Anne Boleyn. You can go to the movie's gallery at this link. More caps on the way!

Goya's Ghosts » 11 Jun 2008
As promised! A movie taking place before 1900. Goya's Ghosts was released in 2006, but hardly got any attention even though it starred big names like Javier Bardem and Natalie Portman. In my opinion, the movie was so-so. The costumes and acting, however, were good, so be sure to check the gallery additions to see. You can find the link here, or under Georgian. The painter Goya becomes involved with the Spanish Inquisition when his muse, Ines, is arrested by the church for heresy. Her father, Thomas, comes to him hoping that his connection with Brother Lorenzo, whom he is painting, can secure the release of his daughter.
